Drama Workshop
A fun and engaging drama workshop for beginners, with no need for prior experience.
This workshop invites Primary School students to embrace their personality to playfully explore and develop their voices, movement and acting skills to develop their performance abilities, resilience and confidence.
Student creativity, expression and confidence is nurtured throughout the workshop as students engage in a variety of engaging learning tasks deigned to explore the Drama skills of:
Movement: Utilising body language, including posture, gestures, and spatial awareness, to enhance performance.
Facial Expression: Using the face to convey emotions and reactions, adding depth to performance.
Voice: Experimenting with vocal techniques like projection, articulation, and inflection to convey meaning and emotion.
Communication: Effectively conveying ideas and emotions through verbal and nonverbal means.
Timing: Exploring pauses, rhythm, and pacing to create dramatic effect.
Energy: Projecting enthusiasm and passion to engage the audience.
Students apply these techniques and skills to:
Improvisation: thinking and acting on their feet, creating scenes and characters spontaneously.
Acting: the creative portrayal of characters, scripts and scenes.
Throughout the workshop, students present ideas to each other, and practise giving and receiving constructive feedback. These small showings are encouraged to be viewed as works in progress - shifting away from perfection and towards progression and expression.
As a climax to the workshop, students will have the opportunity to present a final scene to the group and parents prior to 3pm dismissal.
